there must be at least one or two of those bemoaning its fate who could buy it.
so why not approach admin & assess options?

Admins don't want to bring gameplay affecting changes to the game.

No it's about gameplay, why would anyone buy this game for 80k (their asking price) when it is in such a broken and shotty place right now. Youd have to hire a entire team of developers to fix this broken ass code, before you could even consider implementing any worth while changes, which means youd be waiting a long ass time to even see if you'll make a return on your investment. While the whole time you have to pay programmers. Simply put, it's a bad investment, hell I'd call it a hell of a gamble even. It just dont seem worth it.

Why would anyone pay €80.000 for what is essentially an html5 grid applet with a copy/pasted upload client, with a refresh function

Have you actually seen the code? How do you know the code is so broken? Are you developer?

Iv been here six years, I have a old copy of the code, iv heard from former players who have worked on the code that it is a nightmare and makes no sense the way amok built it. For a long time I considered investing in atwar, I did scrupulous amounts of research, and my conclusion is ivan and amok gave up on this game and are milking what's left of the revenue stream for some extra money before they shut the servers down.
