Winning world game as South Africa. 5k SP

The alliance option was disabled, so at some point I had to fight in 5 fronts, for South America (wich I managed to conquer pretty fast, but north america pushed me back as i had to use all my money to fight China in Europe), Europe, Middle Eeast, Australia (same story as South Am., being pushed back by a late joiner as New Zeenland) and Africa, the same bothering latejoiners.
To be honest I had luck 3 times, 1- a player in western europe left the game, letting the capitals with little defence (thanks coca_cola), so I took them fast and easy, 2- Paag quiting the game when having all Asia and east europe because someone took siberia and really made a mess in Asia, 3- and a very pasive north american guy, who tryied to cap me with waves of 30 to 60 bombers from South America). And it also helped there were no players in Oceania and South America, so I headed east and west right from first turn.
Eventualy I managed to win a game in wich 37 players played in one moment or another, the last one I fought was USA, holding all South and North America.

Yeah you have to have incredible luck to win as south africa, if europe and asia hadn't left you wouldn't of won.

I personally like playing as West Africa (Ghana forever). I can generally unite Africa, Oceania and South America without anyone wasting resources on me (because nobody gives half a shit about Ghana). Though I guess in a no alliance game that wasn't so viable.

5k SP as South Africa all on your own, that's quite an achievement despite what the haters might say. Congrats!

But about the topic. That's pretty damn lucky. Like others said, if europe or asia was there, you wouldn't have gotten as far as you did.

You wouldn't have been so lucky had Asia and Europe remained.

Anyway, yes, I admit I was luky, I said it myself. I could have just poseted the screenshots and tell how I won a world game by myself.

Before Asia left I have the credit for fighting him even it was clear he will beat me badly, and I managed to resist until he was forced to quit by that latejoiner. I could quit myself when I was in bad situations, but I didn't.
Then, the player who forced asia to quit tryed to do that to me too, but it didn't worked that well this time, so he left when it was clear I will run him over.
Then another player joined and had all china and it was really a strugle to take him out.
So for asia I had to fight 3 players, it wasn't like asia left and I jost got there and took neutrals.
I also had a latjoiner in east Africa, one in Tunisia, 2 in Sweeden, 2 in New Zeenland, 1 in Indonesia and that player who had all Americas...and he wasn't bothered by anyone there.

After all we all need luck in this kind of games. Is just a question of admiting it or not.

XP is the best windows.

Yeah xp is still a solid operating system tbh, most computers at school still run on them and will for a while. upgrades to windows 7 are uneccesary while xp is still fast and reliable.

Windows 7 is fast, pretty reliable for my uses, and looks pretty cool, waay better than the style of XP. I honestly have no problems with XP, it just looks old. My dad has XP on all his office computers, and they run perfectly. Just looks old and crappy. :c

Re-reading this, I found out that you did at one point fight them and looking it over etc. I think it was luck- AND skill. Defending as South Africa... Better choice imo would be Nigeria / Dr. Congo.

Well, my laptop is not working so I got back to my old PC. It has XP from the times even Vista was a rumour, and I don't really know this old thing can run Windows 7, so I keep it this way.

Aristosseur: A friend messed that toolbar, and to be honest it took me a wihile to figure out how turn it back as it was.
