Tournament funds, Vote #2!

I re-created this, since last time it was supposed to be 1 initial country. Now it's 2 countries, and some players suggested 15k as a counter for Ukraine's OP. So, what do you think and please add some comments.

I don't see how 15k solves anything. Ukraine is still a good pick because of it's reinforcements. But to destroy one OP country you've made Germany, France, Spain, UK, Turkey and Italy viable with all strats? Not only that but you could pick one of the afformentioned countries AND Ukraine. It's like using snakes to get rid of rats. Solve one problem, cause a bigger one.

P.s. Just as an example, 15k SM France can cap London, Rome, Madrid and Berlin turn 1.

Barrymore not only france SM ... france with every strategy can cap all of this cities easily with 15k. 10k ironfist and you can cap easily benelux, full switzerland london madrid and rome.....

I don't know if 15k will be the best solution but one things is sure I prefer to have all this countries op than to have only Ukraine......

And alos yes every countries will be viable with every strats but the mix of 2 countries won't be available with everything

Seriously I don't have any opinion fixed on this subject of course it solve the current problem but well I hope that a bigger problem won't happen....

10k 1 initial country is the most balanced gameplay for 1v1s. Like by FAR. At first we all thought that Germany especially with IF was OP. Now it isnt. Why? For many reasons, but mostly the game evolution for 1v1s. Sure Germany is still good but now there's gw and sm ukraine, several UK strats, Spain, GW and IF France, SM Sweden, several Turkish picks and many other cheap country counter that we've all come up with or have started using. 10k 1 initial country is well balanced and has many diversities to it.

I'VE SAID IT BEFORE, AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN. 15k is a good idea, but here's an even better one:

Create a special scenario just for the tournament.

Communities that run tournaments for FPS games do this all the time, for instance. They create maps that are especially designed to be as fair and competitive as possible, stretching the player to the max.

I think Hugosch should clone Pinheiro's Europe++ (which IIRC has various balance changes) and disable Ukraine or something. How about that?

Not really, the player who picks second has major advantage, also 90% of games will probably be Ukraine vs. Turkey. And 10k 1 country is old system, we want something new and more exciting. I was also sceptical about 2 countries but after few games played I realised it's really fun. However, this is not the topic of this discussion so please stick to funds.

EDIT: Also a possibility, maybe regular Europe+ with buffed income on Ukraine so it wouldn't be so cheap anymore.

Another good idea is making the map world. players can fight each other on same continent or cross continental warfare.

It would be no more advantageous than picking another country however this would homogenise Europe games which were only made interesting because East = Zerg and West = Turtle. No difference in nations = no difference in play and a more boring game overall.

Just a suggestion though, buff Ukraines income fix the problem.

I just tested it and it seems to be a medium nerf for GW. If that is the route you guys want to take, then I guess I will support it.

Ukraine isn't OP even with 2 countries in my opinion, but I submit to what the majority thinks in this case.

Guess its settled. Even GW wasn't OP for Ukraine said by best GW player.

Ukraine really isn't "OP." Turkey is generally the best counter for Ukraine (from my personal experience), though 2 countries increases this difficulty. Buffing Ukraine or removing it from the map would also hurt those players who would play with 1 country Ukraine (such as SM players, who would want the income).

Well I don't mind its income boosted because it just makes it the eastern equivelent of what SM Spain used to be.

I would like to clarify that I don't think 15k is needed or any special rule required for Ukraine but as Nate said if people really want this then we'll have to deal with it. I just don't think it's healthy for the game.

In my personal opinion, it is not good for the game if we start minipulating countries based on whims. In the end I don't really care though - I just want to play something competitive.
