What are helicopters good for?

They have the same attack as bombers, but less range and cant be used to defend? Do they get some "hidden" bonus against infantry/militia like the description suggests?

I tried using 8 of them to attack 6 militia...results were 6 militia dead and 3 helicopters dead. Not very impressive, especially when you can get more than 6 militia for every helicopter.

Even with the -3 defence bonus, you can get more than 3 infantry for 1 helicopter, and they will still kill the helicopter....

I suggest using a small pack of 10 helicopters in a stack to increase damage given to enemy forces when facing Infantry and Militia only. But they have low range for an air unit so make them in a city close to where you want to attack.

I would suggest never using them, as they are way too expensive

In a 5k eu+ game, you can use them to cap uk, france, or germany on the first turn

They are not good for anything really unless you are going against a new player who only uses infantry

I think theyre cool so i build a fuuckload of them. Hell I nver even knew they were anti anything, i just like heicopters.

With Desert Storm they are good in Beginner rooms, but in main people are smart enough that they fail.

They are very good counters to PD and GW spammers. On the other hand, you will have a bad time playing against SM.

Use them with imperialist, makes them more cost effective. Tank's are more cost effective but have 1 less range, maybe helicopters need +1 range to make them more useful.

$90 bucks for 7 attack 4 defense, 7 range, vs $170 8 attack (vs infnatry only) 4 defense, and 8 range.

even with imperialist they are not great. Yeah definitely a range upgrade needed at the minimum, maybe a tiny price drop of around $10-20 as well.

The best upgrade you could give them would be to give them 1 capacity.

Militias are better defending against Helicopters.

I would expect helicopters to have a transport capacity of "1" but only for Marines or Infantry.

I don't see any value in using them at this point. The cost compared to the capability is simply not worth it.

Of course, I don't have all those fancy strategies so that could be a factor too.

Helicopters are cool.
You just have to send they close to your enemy and he will say:
Oh no! helicopters!
and then he leave, and then you win, and then you wake up.

There is a reason why they are a "freebie" give away for adding AW to your facebook account.

Cuz helicopters suck unless you have premium
