NOW THE TRUTH
• What was really Operation Storm?
Operation Storm was a large-scale military operation in which the Croatian army and police (not Croatian rebels and fascist militia as Tito said) liberated the occupied territories under the control of the rebel Serbs, on which was established para-state Republic of Serbian Krajina WITHOUT any international recognition !!!
The operation has returned to Croatian constitutional and legal system all the occupied territory except Eastern Slavonia. Operation Storm with Operation Flash were key actions that led to the end of the war.
The operation Storm freed 10,400 square kilometers, or 18.4% of total Croatian territory which was occupied by Serbian rebels from Croatia, JNA army (read Serbian army) and other Chetnik and Serbian rebel groups.
IMPORTANT:
By Operation Storm, Croatian army and police stopped sure genocide in Bihać (Bosnia and Herzegovina) that was planned by Serbian rebels and army who had already occupied Bihać.
Need to be mentioned, Serbians made big holocausts over the whole Balkans (Vukovar, Srebrenica, Sarajevo, many others...)
Casualties after Operation Storm that freed Croatia from Serbian rebels:
Croatia - 174 soldiers died, 1100 wounded
Serbia - 410 soldiers died - by HRW (International statistical organisation) and Seriban statistical organisation are saying much bigger number (expected, but it is exaggerating)
Also, during Operation there were collateral victims (as in every army operation). Number of Serbian collateral victims is: 116 by HRW (and 1200 by Serbian statistics - Here you can see how they are forcing those numbers to be bigger)
Operation Storm was the most famous and largest operation of the Croatian Army and one of the symbols of the Croatian Independence War. Although it didnt freed the whole country, Storm is calculated as the end of the war in Croatia, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina it played a key role in releasing Bihać 'pocket'. It has changed the strategic balance of power in the entire territory of the warring in which the Croatian army proved to be a superior military force.
Probably the most important result is defeating the crazy concept of a Greater Serbia on Croatian territory and creating conditions for ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
• About 250 000 evacuated Serbs!!!
Despite constant calls of Croatian president Franjo Tuđman to citizens of Serbian nationality to stay in Croatia, which guarantees them full citizenship (!!!!) , the largest number of Serbs at the request of his military and political leadership left Croatia in cars and tractors.
The order on the evacuation of Serbs from was signed by Serbian General Mile Mrksic and Mile Martic (!!!!).
Number of Serb refugees is assessed differently: Croatian sources say the figure of 90,000 people, the UN about 150,000, and the Serbian 200.000-250.000 (Incredibly pumped number again).
About the organized evacuation testified one of the Croatian Serb rebel leader Milan Babic on May 9, 1995.
Here is statement of that Serbian rebel (!!!!) :
'For me, it seemed astonishing to hear that the Main Staff of the RSK army and President Mile Martić ordered a general evacuation of the Serbian population and the withdrawal of the army on all fronts lines in Knin, Northern Dalmatia and Lika, although on most lines of contact with the Army were not expressed serious combat and the Army is under the previous plan, and should be able to keep the approaches to Knin at least a month in which there were all the necessary conditions'.
To prove all of this, I have Serbian document about evacuation which was signed by Serbian General Mile Mrksic and Mile Martic:
• Copied message of Croatian president Franjo Tuđman to all Serbian citizens of Croatia:
'Croatian citizens of Serbian nationality from the occupied territories of Knin, Gracac, Lapac, Korenica, Slunj, Glina, Dvor and Petrinja:
Since the failure of all previous attempts, including yesterday's negotiations in Geneva, and the Croatian authorities and the international community for the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian occupied territories; As the originators of the rebellion in Croatia, Martic and others., Instead of responding to the call for peaceful reintegration, continue the war against the Croatian state, and along with the ringleaders of rebellion in Bosnia, Karadzic and others., Forge new plans for conquest to conquest common safe area of Bihac, what Croatia can not afford; As the Croatian and Bosnian Serbs not only to prevent the return of refugees, but also continue with the persecution of non-Serbs; Since the Serbian extremists from the beginning of rebellion and now, call for help remains of Italian fascism, offering a division of Croatian territory between the Italian and Serbian imperialism; Since rambunctious paramilitary Serbian troops, and still commit terrorist attacks on the civilian population from Slavonia to Dalmatia, Croatia shelled areas and cities of Otocac, Gospic, Karlovac, even while in Geneva with Croatian delegation lead political discussions on the peaceful reintegration, again bombarded and the area of Dubrovnik where they dropped a new human victims; And since all the attempts, the Croatian state and the international community to revolt alienated parts of Croatian territory to be peacefully returned under Croatian sovereignty were abandoned and cheated, Croatia is a country forced to take the military steps to activate the aforementioned occupied territories in its constitutional and legal system.
We are forced to such a decision so that, after four years of futile negotiations put an end to the further playing the Croatian and international public and to ensure the beginning of the return of displaced persons to their homes. Therefore, on behalf of the Croatian democratic government: I call on members of Serbian paramilitary units, who have voluntarily or forcibly mobilized in paramilitary Serbian troops to surrender their weapons to the Croatian authorities with a guarantee that they will be bestowed amnesty under Croatian laws. I call on the initiators of the rebellion to realize the futility of their venture and its harmfulness for the Serbian community in Croatia, if they persist in rebellion, to surrender to Croatian authorities and accept forgiveness and a fair trial for their transgressions. I invite the Croatian citizens of Serbian nationality who have not actively participated in the revolt, to remain in their homes, and without fear for their lives and their property, welcome the Croatian authorities, with the guarantee that they will be given full citizenship rights and allow elections for the local government to Croatian Constitution and Constitutional Law in the presence of international observers.

NOW THE TRUTH
• What was really Operation Storm?
Operation Storm was a large-scale military operation in which the Croatian army and police (not Croatian rebels and fascist militia as Tito said) liberated the occupied territories under the control of the rebel Serbs, on which was established para-state Republic of Serbian Krajina WITHOUT any international recognition !!!
The operation on this day, 4.8.1995. and has returned to Croatian constitutional and legal system all the occupied territory except Eastern Slavonia. Operation Storm with Operation Flash were key actions that led to the end of the war.
The operation Storm freed 10,400 square kilometers, or 18.4% of total Croatian territory which was occupied by Serbian rebels from Croatia, JNA army (read Serbian army) and other Chetnik and Serbian rebel groups.
IMPORTANT:
By Operation Storm, Croatian army and police stopped sure genocide in Bihać (Bosnia and Herzegovina) that was planned by Serbian rebels and army who had already occupied Bihać.
Need to be mentioned, Serbians made big holocausts over the whole Balkans (Vukovar, Srebrenica, Sarajevo, many others...)
Casualties after Operation Storm that freed Croatia from Serbian rebels:
Croatia - 174 soldiers died, 1100 wounded
Serbia - 410 soldiers died - by HRW (International statistical organisation) and Seriban statistical organisation are saying much bigger number (expected, but it is exaggerating)
Also, during Operation there were collateral victims (as in every army operation). Number of Serbian collateral victims is: 116 by HRW (and 1200 by Serbian statistics - Here you can see how they are forcing those numbers to be bigger)
Operation Storm was the most famous and largest operation of the Croatian Army and one of the symbols of the Croatian Independence War. Although it didnt freed the whole country, Storm is calculated as the end of the war in Croatia, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina it played a key role in releasing Bihać 'pocket'. It has changed the strategic balance of power in the entire territory of the warring in which the Croatian army proved to be a superior military force.
Probably the most important result is defeating the crazy concept of a Greater Serbia on Croatian territory and creating conditions for ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
• About 250 000 evacuated Serbs!!!
Despite constant calls of Croatian president Franjo Tuđman to citizens of Serbian nationality to stay in Croatia, which guarantees them full citizenship (!!!!) , the largest number of Serbs at the request of his military and political leadership left Croatia in cars and tractors.
The order on the evacuation of Serbs from was signed by Serbian General Mile Mrksic and Mile Martic (!!!!).
Number of Serb refugees is assessed differently: Croatian sources say the figure of 90,000 people, the UN about 150,000, and the Serbian 200.000-250.000 (Incredibly pumped number again).
About the organized evacuation testified one of the Croatian Serb rebel leader Milan Babic on May 9, 1995.

'For me, it seemed astonishing to hear that the Main Staff of the RSK army and President Mile Martić ordered a general evacuation of the Serbian population and the withdrawal of the army on all fronts lines in Knin, Northern Dalmatia and Lika, although on most lines of contact with the Army were not expressed serious combat and the Army is under the previous plan, and should be able to keep the approaches to Knin at least a month in which there were all the necessary conditions'.

I would rather achive no medal as Croatia than won one with the name 'Yugoslavia'.
