My father also said something funny: when you watch American movies, you only see either criminals, cops or lawyers. Its like whole America is made from them.

Because America is made by (of) other nations. Germans, English, Irish, Russians, French, Spanish, Italians, Poles. They all have their own unique cultures so when they arrived in America they couldnt practice their culture/tradition/mentality because they considered that as 'offensive' to other cultures. So they just stopped doing it.

Only Greek Americans and Italian Americans still practice their old cultures. Speaking Greek, eating greek food, preserves greek mentality. Watch 'My big fat Greek wedding'. Its my favorite. Orea Vizya! Ehw tria arhidia!
