Trophies

One of the things on my bucket list was to reorganize the AtWar trophy page. For those of you who don't know the page is available to moderators and admins to add, remove and give trophies. Some of you probably don't know this but I've been doing this on and off for the past year and now I need your opinion.

Most if not all trophies have been arranged into categories. Some categories have barely anything in them, others are loaded. The trouble arises here.





Custom trophies have lead to a mess, and I mean a mess, there are multiple trophies that are nothing more than stock images, some with broken texture or shitty alignment, others just don't represent the tournament.

Should we change the images of trophies, moving away from stock images and move towards custom trophies? Should we change trophies that do not represent their tournament?

Change trophies to represent the tournament. Standardizing is boring though

I believe that official atwar trophies should be standarized, while non-official tournaments should only get custom trophies if they meet a few requirements.

Tournaments should only have trophies (custom trophies), if they are 64 players or more. To maintained the trophies sense of value, other than that a standard trophy is best for 63 or under. People are making trophies for small tourneys which isn't needed and degrading the value of them by inflating the number of trophies with no value.
i.e. Underdogs Tournament - I didn't make a trophy for it in the end, but it would have been so unnecessary

It can be solved so simply:

Custom Trophies - For ended Tournaments with 32+ participants which must meet certain requirements
Standardized Trophies - For all the rest things (as writing contest, HTML5 tester, +100 CWs, etc..)

Why wouldn't they award trophies to themselves for little or no reason? That's how clovis got 100 trophies.

To keep with things, I've added 4 new fun trophies. The old cartographer trophy got removed in exchange for 2 new standard rules trophies. The playmaker trophy is back now with a legit way to get it. A new trophy for participating in duels also added.

Gimme meester gimme!

EDIT #2 sorrz... guess Ive just jumped to it. Why add more fun badges though?

As for the rest of this thread I agree they shouldbe standardize( except once again, fun trophies. Rather than standardized they should be removed).

Added. Still in the process of overhauling the current system, maybe we can see new trophies ones when we are done.

I'd go with non-standard but have to be approved by a mod for relevance and quality

also, I think play-based trophies should somehow have higher value, maybe make it a little bigger or have more space for a longer caption
