Questions about the map editor

Im a new player and wanted to make a map, hopped in the map editor and is lost, tried making borders, nope, it did nothing just some white shapes that disappeared. How does the map editor work? I need help!

Looked at the link, instructions unclear, buttons does not look the same as right now

Took a look at it,The buttons dont look the same right now???

Loaded up the editor, uploaded a map image, selected the draw borders, tried to draw borders and it does nothing, the buttons in the post's pictures are no where seen in the map editor. Looks like i cant create a map then

Loaded up the editor, uploaded a map image, selected the draw borders, tried to draw borders and it does nothing, the buttons in the post's pictures are no where seen in the map editor. Looks like i cant create a map then

The buttons are all the same it's only their icons that changed.

And make sure you connect the border with the starting point when you're done drawing the border.

One last thing, when testing ur map, how do u make units appear in cities once u start the map like other matches and how do u make enemy units appear in countries not controlled by a player

For that you'd need to use the scenario's editor

To make units appear you have to create the units in the map editor. It will put militia in all the cities though unless it has alot of reinforcements and income then the city produces infantry. Those two units can be renamed whatever you want in the editor, but by default are ground defence and ground secondary defence.
