Why do people get away with Racism?

Atwar is a very fun game with a bunch of great players from around the world, but recently I've noticed some blatant racist comments on room and game chat using words such as "Nigger" and "Foreigner", I personally do not understand why someone feels the need to insult someone by their country's origin or culture. I think that to maintain atwars diverse community of many wonderful people, mods need to take action against these bullies instead of focusing on personal conflicts (on atwar), ultimately this is the purpose of a Mod but it is not being fulfilled, please fix this.

I support this, Get the fck off with this tik-tok dude, he said in room chat to kill all african people and we should not give them anymoney and they are not worthy our time and money and they are scum because they are black and stuff.. and mods didnt do any fking thing? But by muting people who actually say something about it -.-

Actually he is right, nobody cares, welcome to the internet.
To be honest, I can't quite follow your problem with this. I couldn't care less about being called a Nazi, Kraut or whatever racial slur you want to use against Germans over the internet,.
In return this doesn't mean I won't call you a nigger, a filthy zionist jew, or whatever comes to mind. If this affects you, report it to the mods. They will, or will not take action, according to their personal feeling about the matter. Problem is that once the mods actually enforce the rules you will have dozens of little retarded teenagers popping up threads on how they were treated badly, how the mods installed a faschist regime over the community and loads of more drama. What's the point of having mods if they don't enforce their own rules, if the community doesn't like it then they should stop playing, play by the rules or not at all. Mods already enforce the rules, just because you consider the word "Negro" or "Foreigner" doesn't mean those words are reason for a punishment, where i come from, the word "Negro" is accepted and widely used, now the term Foreigner isn't bad at all, is just a way to describe people that aren't from certain country...

Now, there is a difference between using this "rude" words and being offensive.
if a player constantly pr's you with such rude words or insults you in global, you can always report him. if he uses them in room chat in a more general manner, you can always ignore him, but there is nothing more that you can do.

2nd: the mods are members of the community too, they where normal players that where chosen either for being mature(or recommended by a fellow mod).

if you find the community of atwar rude or intolerant, you are welcome to leave, but there is way worse places in the internet where you will actually find REAL racism and trolling.

If it means anything, common terms like "Nigger", "Faggot", "Kike", "Nazi", etc, are just words. If you truly feel offense to it, please just ignore the fucktard (With the ignore button) instead of causing mod/forum drama. If they consistently harass you, then do inform the mods and get them muted. Someone like the lovable racist Tik-Tok spouting his personal opinions in [room] chat should be ignored, rather than muted. Someone like the less-lovable baal blatantly calling you a "_____" and consistently ruining your experience with personal harassment, should be muted.

This might sound harsh but we are on the internet. People here rely to using harmful words or phrases because we are safe behind our computer screens. To get offended by what some fat-22-year-old-college-dropout thinks of your race or religion is pointless. Yes the game has rules against it but this happens in every part of the internet. Best way to get over it is to move on and if you cant deal with it then click the ignore button. Complaining in the forums will never solve the problem as when 1 racist is banned 3 more take his place.

Marcus Cicero summed it up. 95% of internet offenders wouldn't even have the courage to say a word to you in real life and that's why they relieve their personal frustrations with the world in the internet, where they think they're safe from anything.

I suggest you to use the ignore button mainly, but as I said before, the mods are there to solve bigger problems, you only need to use report (and that is meant to everyone else aswell). I will close the thread since I think your doubt was solved and to avoid it to turn into another kind of discussion.
