Changing AtWar: Nero's view for the future

Troll Nero will be toned down until the community gets some sort of voice. You would think the Admins would take note of the how angry the community is becoming from all the posts and things said in the game chat. However, this is not the case as 2 new, kind of random, mods were selected with no prior notice. I, and I am sure the community, would like some kind of announcement at least.
The community needs a voice and needs to be informed. No longer can members who have been playing for upwards of 3 years be left with no voice.

I agree with you Nero, something has to be done.

Like I said, it is time to get serious. I'm very concerned with the current situation, and I no longer want to sit down and "Hi I am Nero" anymore. We have to get down to business.

Well I sort of don't agree. I think it should be upto the game creators to decide who to make mods. Obviously the amount of role you play in the community matters both in game and forum. In this game probably they don't have time. Mods also shouldn't be making that decision. But in a game like this community itself probably make the worst possible choice simply because there will be very little uniformity no body will ever agree on anything.

It helps if you have dedicated people looking after this game but not sure if that's even possible.

It has been this way from the very beginning. And no, they're not 'kind of random' at all.

It has been this way from the very beginning. And no, they're not 'kind of random' at all.

I think he means they were randomly selected as in, we had no notice, so they were just random new mods

I think he will be a good mod tbh (E-mare) popularity/notoriety a mod does not make.

nah i'm not concerned, i don't give a fuck about mods i'm sure he is gona do a good job, heard nice things about him from waffel... i just trolled a bit because i had a clash with him in off topic.

but my question stands... i mean of course you not gona pick mods from the MAD hat and pull out a Goblin, Tito, Unleashed, Fuehrer, Khal or some other charismatic off topic psychopath...

...but there are so many other highly active players who have been long in this game, have a good reputation and are better known... that makes me wonder how do this poor bastards get picked this days?

Business, would you ask why any other company hires the staff they do? I think we as a community are afforded quite a high degree of influence here compared to other games.

Mod elections need to be held not just people who the admins think should be mod, the admins don't even play this game.

This game community is rather small, and nothing like a business. A lot of people would like to know why the people who moderate this game are chosen.

What reasons, The community will choose a mod based on experiences they've had with this person. Better than not knowing who they are!

I don't see why not. If the reasons are so "obvious" you can surely sift out the troll responses from the serious ones, giving those who actually care about the game a chance to speak their minds.
