I seriously don't get it, why not perfect HTML5 before completely releasing it and making it permanent.

SL seemed to be running just fine while HTML was being made so I don't understand the problem. If you could have them both running why not keep SL out until HTML is actually completely playable.

I am not sure if it's my computer or the game, But it takes me 3 or more seconds just to open a city in HTML. Do the math, you wouldn't get nearly enough done in the 4 minutes that games give you because of the lag.

4 minutes in HTML is more like 3 minutes and 15 seconds considering the turn ends at 45 seconds.

4 minutes in HTML is like 2 minutes in SL because of the lag it's terrible.

Problems need to be fixed, the competitive side will die if the game doesn't live up to the expectations it used to be.
Considering 70% of the AW community is made of of competitive gamers.

The rest is mainly Roleplay, Ancients, and World war games.

That's a huge majority of the players I would say. Just do something quick or the 150 truly active players that login everyday is going to turn into about 50-70 real active players. And I would say that isn't good for business.

While I agree with this, the competetive community actually makes up the >30% with world ancient and Roleplay making up the >70%, But I would assume they are not enjoying the slow and sluggish gameplay HTML5 is providing either....

If yes then switch as fast as possible, and if not then wait a few weeks. They chose yes and switched as fast as possible, and it wasn't ready for a lot of the players (with old comp). Those players will suffer until gameplay is optimized, and that should be the admins' priority. Just hold on a few weeks if not days and hopefully HTML will be playable for slower computers.

You and Tito both have 1 thing in common, you make up statistics.

Competitives make up less than 20% of Atwar, being the huge majority of the players in Scenarios and Maps, and within those, Roleplay and WW1,on its majority, and scattered on other map types.

Html5 Afterwind works fine for me, if not perfectly. I got way too much disconnection on Silverlight + map lag. Html5 is way better for me.

I only dislike new look on website, looks like tablet/iphone display (which is very childish for my taste), but i ignore that, it's just fashion for picky. Afterwind darker display was much better, maybe create mod for us older?

Competitive players probably make up 70% of high ranks. Its what usually tends to hold our interest in the game.

.. However, if you are talking about a certain group that define themselves as "competitive" that only plays eu+, then let me tell you there are literally < 1% of the database. You can only feel their presence in both forums and the game because that 1% of players are composed by some mods.

Competitive obviously refers to players who compete in cws tournaments and duels. Mecoy is part of that group and was evidently referring to them. And the vast majority of high ranks in the community make up that group.

nope, you compete in competitions, you're competitive, this holds true across sports and even computer games. Your definition is much more of a stretch, but fortunately for you the english language is very flexible. However this aside, when a player refers to "competitive players", you can safely assume they are referring to the definition i mentioned. Look I am not going to argue with you about what competitive means. That is not the point of this thread. However, I would appreciate if you can stop stating your opinion like if it was a fact, because it is not. You can lie to yourself, and maybe even to some players. But at the end of the day, the truth is always one. We all compete and gain SP (and sometimes even protocoins) from all the games, and whenever you like this or not, this is the truth.

If you consider high ranks to be rank 8+ or rank 9+ I'd say it's more like 55%/60%, there are quite a lot of high ranks on scenarios and non competitive maps, in general.

If this thread was just a rant then it doesn't really have any purpose, does it? lol. Anyway Epic Clan is constantly active and looking for CWs, just that other clans won't play us. We almost got one with VS but opi didn't wanted to, and ENIGMA didn't wanted to play our ranks.

In regards of the duels, I am actually seeing it as normal as previously, so no issues with that. Even I am seeing more 3vs3 than before in main room.

Just like The Tactician said, just like Amok said, they will eventually adapt and play again. This is more a matter of how much it takes them than anything.
