He should have shown some respect to the owner of the game. I had a feeling it'll end like this from the way he acted in the AMA thread so no surprise. Though he should take a break and return later and maybe apologise to dave publicly, because he aired the dirty laundry in public.

Seems perma ban is very unreasonable honestly. I don't think Helly was on the level that Unleashed or xbugs was. So there's really no need to put him there.

I always assumed perma ban was for constant trouble makers and I think Helly is far from being a trouble maker he just said some rude stuff and I think if he apologized it could go a long way tbh considering it's probably his first offense in a long time.

You guys shouldn't make assumptions like that he's not permabanned.

Helly was one of the last original map and scenario makers in here. Just saying that, for me he was a master like Tik Tok, Aetius and Pyrrhus and they inspired me to be active as a map/scenario maker.

If he doesn't back...well, even Laochra got back here, just saying.

Ok here is a summed up version, Helly basically told Dave in exact words that he "didn't know what he was doing" and offered to pay for a programmer, then he started being very disrespectful in Dave's AMA after Dave wouldn't answer his question. So i banned him from the forums for 2 weeks. He sent me a slew of messages threatening to sue Dave and I unless this was "not rectified quickly". I banned him with no time limit not because the ban was permanent but because I wasn't sure how long his melt down would ensue. His ban was and for the most part still is up to him. I haven't responded to him in discord because he hasn't done anything but vaguely threaten me.

Just to add from my perspective... I really don't understand what helly's problem is.

He comes to me out of the blue, tells me I'm an incompetent developer because he hasn't seen enough progress. He offers to pay for a developer "who knows what they're doing". And he doesn't understand why I would be offended by this?

Well anyway I decided to just ignore him and move on. I didn't do anything to the guy.

Next thing I know he's harassing me on my AMA thread demanding answers to his questions... I warned him not to derail the thread, and when he continued with another post I deleted it.

After that he goes into full meltdown mode, firing off tons of messages to me, to Sid, and probably a lot of other people. Sid muted him and then eventually banned him not permanently but until he cooled down.

On top of this Helly is now going around calling me a liar and saying I disrespected him so horribly... for what? How is Helly the victim here? He said some shit, I ignored it, now he's melting down making vague threats of law suits or whatever else? Come on.

I think helly's idea wasn't that bad he's just retarded and think Dave is doing nothing and couldnt change anything that's what I thought last year and what many players think.

1 year ago Dave banned bugs I insulted him and said he knows nothing of atwar and he shouldn't moderate the game and got banned by him
I was like the most toxic player with bugs last year but then when I saw nic and other players saying I was toxic af I knew it wasn't Dave the problem but me so I apologized to Dave and he unbanned me.
Helly doesn't understand what he did wrong that's the problem and that's why I say he's retarded D

I knew that well packed Helly's message yesterday is not the real truth. Maybe part of the truth from his perspective.
I was actually secretly cheering for Dave to come up publically with his point of view on that story.

To be honest, without having anything too good or too bad with Helly, if I were Dave, I would react the same. Or even worse.

As we could see from various things which I was pointing out before, disrespect is the worst thing on this game. And it is a cause of 90% of problems here.

I have risen up whole atwar because fucking njab left lost cw at turn 2.
It was so iritating bullshit and I couldnt watch him acting some smartass, disrespecting me and having fun of me thinking that his disrespect is unpunishable.

Like come on, he was literally spitting on Dave's knowledge through Dave's own virtual game. What he expexted? A bunch of flowers?

He is lucky that ban is not permanent but lasting till he cools down.
I hope Helly will change position of his speaking to a lower one, hierarchy needs to be respected, and that they can solve and puzzle out the occured problem.
