Generals back? :D

Hello Aw,

I see there are alot of people complaining about the General thing, In the old AW there were no problems about generals since everbody had them. Having a general really helps you and its usefull since those extra upgrades. Also its a little bit unfair against the people who dont have generals. I know they also wanted to make money, but there are still alot of things you need premium for so its not like if general becomes free they wont get money anymore.

Also another thing:
Since there are alot of people registered with emails, some are not but thats to badd for them. Sent the inactive people about coming back and achieving 1 month free premium. Some people totally forget about this game and some people were just not in mood or whatever. By sending them a email you show them you actually care about them? And changing the free premium trial from 3 days to 1 months would be better too. Since people cant really do much in 3 days, they cant really experience the whole premium thing. If they had 1 month premium and would become premiumless I think they would really miss being premium and maybe even consider buying it.

Naaahhh. General is one of the sexiest things you can obtain with premium package; besides the map/scenario edition tools/capabilities. Remember, it is also associated with lots of upgrades (11).

Good idea, maybe not complete premium package. Keep somethings for 1 week, others for 2, and other premium features for 3-4 weeks. Could be something like this:

Premium features available for 3-4 weeks:

• Create a Coalition.
  
• Become a Coalition Leader or Officer.
  
• 10% SP discount on all upgrades.
  
• Change player name free of charge (normally 10000 SP).

Premium features available for 2 weeks:

• Unlock five exclusive strategies: Lucky Bastard, Iron Fist, Great Combinator, Desert Storm and Hybrid Warfare.
  
• Put yourself into the game with a special General unit.
  
• Encounter additional rare units!

Premium features available for 1 week:

• Create custom maps and scenarios!
  
• Custom player avatar, General icon and forum signature.
  
• Earn Gold and Crimson medals!
  
• Access the Global chat channel.

Sounds pretty good Columna

I won't give my opinion yet regarding Generals, but the other recommendations (with Columna's tweaking) seem extremely beneficial towards AtWar as a whole. Support.

Yeah, more people buy premium to make RPs and shit than for the actual general. When the majority of people who atwar don't even know what half the strategies do, why do you think they could make proper use of a general?

Nobody except for the occasional 2-3 new competitive players get in line for a general. Free generals wouldn't affect profits as much as people might think they do.

But I don't know about giving the General away for free lol. The only reason I bought premium was for general and it's upgrades. If that was free, I would've never paid the $40 lol.

1 month of preminium for being inactive is waay too much. Let it be a week. Or maybe instead give enough PCs for a week a prem, btw.

PC's are not viable, as people could farm for it in this way

I miss my general even when i just leave it the capital and let it do nothing the entire game it was my soul and now i have none. Im going to go cry now

Allow premium players to donate Generals to non premium players!

But you would need to be inactive for quite a bit.

And heck, let's just give enough PC for a few days.

Could be an option columna, but i think making it fair is cooller..

3 days of full premium, or even a week is good. An entire month of premium, like you said, would be absurd, however.

4 weeks

Coalition creation should not last for 4 weeks, or, people will just create accounts, and allow them to be inactive, for the sole purpose of creation a coalition.

The Officer/leader part is fine.

Name change is fine
2 weeks

SP discount belongs here, as it affects gameplay

General is fine

Rare units is fine

Custom Avatar, general icon, etc should go here, as they don't bother other players, and are on the same tier as the general itself.
1 week

Global belongs here

Medals belong here

Does that also mean everybody get new more updated upgrade, for bored high ranks?

I dont mean more upgrades, I mean some of the upgrades that exist. For example, General: Movement Range, General: View Range, Lucky General, Faster General, General: Cost, And Faster General I & II.

Those upgrades really cant buy you a victory - they dont affect the unit's strat. Range should be keep for premium as I am sure Movement Range is the most wanted Gen upgrade.

Devs can also make a poll about the most need General strat, and make premium the ones who are most need.

Difficult yes but impossible no. The admins could do this: Make a contest for players to propose strats and admins take them in, think of them, and tweak them etc and winner gets a month subscription or something. My point it the admins don't need to put in that much effort. And yea boosting HW might help but its not enough.

Hmm i still think they dont have to make more ''premium strats'' since those non premiums are mostly playing PD or something like this. And everybody keeps shitting about PD faggs. But they cant do much... maybe imp or GW or whatever, but bit hard without general and VS general.
