Why is competitive dying???

Because u cant play competitive without general. Most players are students they can hardly pay for it and i dont think they will spend it that much for aw(maybe put an option to only buy general) . Competitive players dont train new people instead they argue with them like wd and you need to play thousands of games to get upgrades. So people of course will go to play scenarios or rp where they dont need a general or upgrade

Or maybe you nubs that got trained by others do your part and train atleast one more...Remember you didnt have premium but i somehow fund it for you.Do the same.

The upgrades don't work once you lose the premium, as far as I know.

It is hard to say, on one hand this game cannot be advertised as "not pay to win" if it includes the general as a perk, as that was a dishonest statement from the previous ownership of the game- but at the same time, the pay to win element may be necessary, as many people only buy Premium for the general, and that might be the most likely reason someone would.

There are alternatives however, if the general is restored to non-premium players. For instance, SP discounts for Premium players could discount 15% or even 20% of the cost of upgrades, or name changes could cost Protocoins (meaning more people would buy PC) as opposed to costing SP. Perhaps even the customization of your generic units by changing the images and names could be bought by Protocoins too? Many would likely buy that feature, I'm sure.

I know, but I right now it's 10%- i was just talking about making it more to compensate for the fact that the general is free for all. This would also make getting all upgrades easier and help put players on an even playing field.

Changing it to 15% won't really do much. Lucky infantry for example is 18900 with premium. with another 5% it'll take off about 1k SP making it over 17900. It's still really costly and a lot of these upgrades you won't get until at least rank 7, unless you don't buy any other upgrades prior
In my opinion to make upgrades easier we should increase the SP boost option's durations. Cause it's really hard to get a lot of games in daily to fully utilize the SP boost. Add a few more days onto the SP boost and that'll make it more worth it.
Edit: I also believe give 1 free SP boost to a new account to use

It's not dying but I'd support some way for non premium players to have the general. Maybe make it worth a lot of SP or something. That or they can just buy premium...

What you should do, if you don't like Gen being only premium, is get a prem friend to create a map clone of EU+ and add the general unit. Play on that. Problem solved.
