New official maps?

Currently Atwar has 1 official map which is the standard world map. The good thing with this map is that everyone can play it including players without premium as they can host it too... What if there were a few more official maps that non premiums could host also? Just a thought, let me know your opinion below.

Edited: A lot of confusion below, What I was more referring to is an entirely new map based in maybe a different timeframe. For example an Ancient world kind of map except this one would be more balanced and better drawn than the current popular ancient world map, It will most likely use the same map background as the current one. As I'd love to see something like game of thrones or middle earth, there'd probably be some issues with copyright and all that nonsense.

Won't happen. The moment they make official maps are the moment they are going to start getting sued by the copyright holders of all the pictures that can be found in the custom maps.

I don't see why they would make a specific map available to the public (like GoT). Rather atWar should create their own map - my idea would be a Pangea Map. It fits the theme of real geographical setting (World Map > Eurasia > EU/Asia, ect), avoids a lawsuit, and who doesn't want to play on a Pangea map, it would be one of the most unique game features out there.

Of course this would mean paying someone to create a vector (a scalable image that atWar would own) of Pangea, but it would be worth it I think.

Personally I have tried to make a Pangea map before, but there are no images out there that would make a quality map.

- Pangea is represented differently by experts and this is one of the representations.

Honestly if they announced they would consider making a Pangea map, it would be awesome.

I could possibly photoshop something together. I could either just borrow the textures from the current world map or something like that, done it before

I would give non prems 3 maps per week. To qualify to be a featured free map it must have at least 100 plays already and also have a showpiece article in forum for the map.

Or you can buy individual maps with PC

Every week make three or four different maps available to be hosted by anyone, it should include both popular ones and new ones so that they can gain recognition

Great idea, cycling the maps that can be hosted every week or month for non-premiums for more variety.

I know you mean a free map, but why have it limited to a handful and end up in the same current situation?

If you alternate the maps available for free you are enticing people to buy the premium package - for admins to implement this idea it gives them an incentive to do so.

If by that you mean one with Naval Combat, there are many such maps. I'm pretty sure Columna Durruti has made one.

Make extra cities standard, perhaps

A Pangaea map would be boring, you need water for varied combat/tactics.

I whould suggest the extra cities map beaing official and removing the map without extras as official.
if we are talking about secondary map from the world map i whould suggest Anciet world.

eurasia and africa are boring though :p NA is small enough not to matter.
