How to Eliminate Help Chat Abuse

As we all know, help chat abuse is a chronic issue, and mods are constantly handing out bans for that. But, the only reason people are constantly spamming on help chat, is because they want a place to actually be able to speak with everyone in the game. Only premium players have global, and non-premium just want a place to talk to everyone.

We could rename help chat as general chat, and then people would be free to speak as they wish. People could of course mute general chat, just as muting help chat has always been an option.

In order to replace help chat, we could have the admins easily add another chat to replace the help chat. This new help chat could be censored to block swear words (I've figured out how that is possible, and will tell the mods if this idea goes forward), and there could also be some sort of timer like in global chat (albeit with maybe 1/2 the time). The code for this change would be very easy to implement. This would remove a lot of headaches from the mods and players alike, and stop the hatred against mods that some players have. This would also enhance the community by allowing people a place to speak their mind in public.

This would benefit every player because people could speak freely and to everyone, and would also benefit mods because they would no longer have to endlessly ban trolls and alts.

I know some of you may be thinking "Why not just speak in room chat?". But room chat is not enough. Many people are afk in it, and many players on atwar are playing a game, so they cannot see the room chat. Also, people will want to be able to speak to those in the main room, beginners room, etc.

If we add this new update, both the mods and the players will be greatly benefitted. Players will get a space to speak, and mods will be free of a burden they have had to face for years. Please upvote this post if you agree, and tell ivan/amok if they are online. This change would take barely an hour/few hours of coding at max, and would make everyone's time at atwar more enjoyable

Room chat is not enough; there is a big issue right now in that there are trolls and alts spamming help chat, while mods are forcing to endlessly ban and mute them. 1) Global is for advertisement.

2) Nobody wants a chat where kids can spam while your in a game, it's bad enough help chat turns itself back on after logging off.

3)No matter what anyone does, as long as there is something to troll and gain attention trolls will flock to it. The only way to fix help chat would be to make it like /report mod Chat, therefore trolls can't see there trolling anymore so they won't do it. Instead though like /report where only mods can see it, they can make it for supporters and volunteers who can pm responses back to those with concerns.

The chats works as intended no one wants to have your random babble filling there chat bar while they are strategizing and communicating with people who actually matter. Room chat is the perfect chat for you and people like you.

Lastly your a fucking troll making alts to upvote yourself what a joke. They should ban you for forgery.

That's why I'm saying that AtWar can add a censor; I know a rudimentary censor the mods can use til atwar can implement a real censor (a few words on help chat were censored by the mods on accident for a few days; they don't know how it happened but I do). Also, the new help chat can have a timer like global, and that timer could be even longer than the global timer if needed. Spamming would no longer be possible, and no longer be enjoyable by trolls/alts. All the trolls/alts would be attracted to the general chat anyways, and with a place to release steam, trolling would go down.

Lol no need for insults, the original post I made is a good idea. As you said, if general chat gets annoying, it can be simply turned off if needed; it can be turned off just like room. Also, the new help chat can have a censor and/or an advanced timer; that would remove the incentive for trolls to spam it.

Maybe general chat's default state could be off; we could also implement a /report for the new help chat if needed as you said. The general chat/new help chat idea will be greatly beneficial for atwar if implemented, and it could be tweaked to make it more palatable to everyone. There's no reason why there shouldn't be a general chat, most other games have some sort of it. AtWar has a bit too much focus on the help chat right now, and with a general chat, would reduce trolling

Global chat is and should remain a premium benefit.
Yes, premium should not include essential things like a general, but it should, and has to include all of the minor things that make a difference, like global.

Also, trollers troll there not because they have nowhere else to talk, but precisely because it's banned.

Global chat is currently only for premium and only for advertisement; general chat is just for talking in general. Global would still be noticed more than general chat in terms of adverts

Let's be real, if people want to troll and spam, they're gonna do it regardless the room or whatever. You can't control the people, and although I do agree with the idea, people are going to do whatever they want regardless.

If people get their own room, the urge to troll will go down. Also, if atwar actually had some sort of censor/chat filter system, spamming would be much more difficult to do. Thankfully, Amok is allowing volunteers to come so these changes might be possible now <3
