When the first poll came out for the 2020 POTY I was gonna vote for Tengri but I had decided not to vote at all  . So Tengri could've won by 1 vote if I had voted in the first poll.

Tbh, partially I agree. In my opinion I would put everyone under POTY award, regular players, moderators, supporters, admins, whoever contributed the game in any way. It would be an unique award for one and single player that deserved such award throughout one year and that's all.
Player is player, independently of status, role, shield colour, rank, premium or whatever.
MOTY is just making confusion as from first MOTY should have been award for certain Mod who players choose to award him for best moderating in game, but nowadays people think it's the same award as POTY, just with difference in role someone is carrying in this game. People don't know if they vote MOTY because of moderating or because of contribution or because of both, but cannot be both because there is already POTY for that. All in all, MOTY award hasn't been explained well from beggining and it stayed the same until today.
Personally, I would either totally split them up and officially define each in detail, so there are no misunderstandings and so people actually know what they vote for in which award, either I would remove MOTY. There should be no differences between players, independently of anything, and every user of this game could go under POTY award, depends on his contribution through one year, no matter if he is no-premium rank 4 or moderator rank 14.

Agreed.. I tried doing some of this for 2019 MOTY by explaining what all the candidates did before people could even vote, that way you have an informed base and someone who deserves the award gets it.
We should do something more like these for the entire system altogether in my opinion..
